...and I am one of them. Gray Fox is one of my favorite characters in the series. He was always a character I wanted to know more about. Before MPO I had so many questions about Gray Fox and then MPO came out and basically made a statement that every outrageous thing we knew about Fox was a pre-existing condition.
He was mindless robot before he was a mindless robot. He could jump inhumanly high before he was a cyborg. He was an experiment before he was an experiment. He had issues with memory before he had issues with his memory.
You have to wonder why they would try to make Gray Fox be everything he was in a game that was set in a time 30 year prior? I have my ideas why they would do that, but I don't want to create a theory. I want to ask you all a question.
If Gray Fox is in MGSV how would we recognize him? What are some chracteristics that you would expect to see given all we know about him?
until we found out that Chico's changed his name to Frank Yeager.
And Chico being Fox wouldn't make any sense whatsoever as Fox is of Vietnamese and German descent whereas Chico is of Nicaraguan descent. inb4 "Kojima said there will be retcons!" No he didn't, he said there might be retcons, which is a statement of possibility, not a statement of fact.
He'll be a normal guy because PO wasn't canon
The core story is canon, but some details aren't.
Evidently Kojima disagrees with you because he himself advertised PO as canon and publicly acknowledged it as canon twice, once after Peace Walker was released and once quite recently. PO is canon, get used to it.
What details aren't may I ask? Oh wait, I'm sorry, Kojima didn't go into specifics on what he meant by that, which renders that comment completely irrelevant until he actually does go into specifics about it.
