Since I see a lot of complaining and *****ing here *don't even see that on the SE board*, I gotta ask:

If you had full development rights over the next FF game *XV, we're ignoring any Fabula Novala titles at the moment* where would you take the series?

And please, nothing like "I'd give it an actual story" or "I'd bring in some sort of Demi-Human races".

I'm looking for specifics.

Now I'm sure a lot of topics complaining about FFXIII are made purely for the purposes of just complaining and/or light trolling, but I'm still curious.

This is the type of answer I explicitly didn't want.

Are you saying you want a FFVI-2? A FFIX-2?

Do you want the character options of VI with the story and art from IX?

What, exactly, are you looking for?

I'd give it an actual story" and I'd bring in some sort of Demi-Human races.

The antagonist would be an evil crystal sword that would take over the holder, the protagonist would be a good crystal sword that would guide the holder.

Game wouldn't be "push up and X" like FF13, you could control all characters in battle and story is based on your actions.

Oh,
I'd do all I can to get the game out in less time than FFvs13.

I want a game that has similar 'taste' to that of XII, obviously with improved and more focused plot.

I want the non-linearity, wide array of landscapes/environments, real time ARPG combat system, re-playability value, good music, good cast, proper side-quests, much much better character customization than XIII e.t.c

I would make a

1. 1 player rpg
2. Setting like 11
3. Modified XIII battle system (still action but slower for more menu navigation)
4. Opened worldish like 11 & 12
5. Summons
6. complex story (light vs dark, magic vs machine)
7. 3-4 person party (10 total)
8. Crystals



I feel like I'm describing 14 but I've never played it.

I'd like to see them try something new with the story. Like instead of the hero, you play as the villain, but you don't know you're the villain until the very end. I would also like to see Yoshitaka Amano return as lead character and world designer, to see his art in a high budget 3D RPG would be orgasmic.

Main character is a father. Late 20's. It starts out with just him. You gradually get more party members. 5 person party with front and back rows. Can place them in 3 a row. So 3 front, 2 back or vice versa. 10 party members total.
Story revolves around a war between different kingdoms. Possibly part of the Ivalice Alliance. The main character is drafted and must leave behind his young child and wife. An adventure ensues.
Battle is both turn based and ADB. Certain parts of the game will have you controlling all characters by turns. Others will be ADB with you controlled and the rest of the AI's that you can switch into.
Includes a fun comic relief zone. Like an arcade/casino/theatre. Minigames and extras inside.
Bosses are all challenging. Some battles could last up to 45 minutes.
Music is lightheated and acoustic in the field when appropriate. Intense with electric guitars/chorus when a battle is about to start or in hostile area. The battle music is upbeat and fast. It changes on occasion depending on certain factors such as length of battle, if health is high or low or party has a few ko'd people.
The CG scenes are beautiful and used in opening, important scenes, and ending.
World Map has controllable vehicles. The person is never walking on the world map. Upon leaving the area you enter your vehicle. Land car, big boat, submarine upgrade to boat, airship.
Lastly, the scenery is organic. Lots of mountains, water, hills. Grays are only found in cities. Weather is used. Rain, storm, wind.
Thats all I can think of for now
Edit: Magic is a rare thing and only usable by a few characters. It's takes multiple turns to cast.
