If I missed a relationship that was established among the major characters in a numbered FF, I apologize.

Either Squall/Rinoa or Tidus/Yuna easily. The rest were nothing special. I voted for VIII cos it is probably recognised as the most 'love story' FF.

I'll go with this.

FFVIII's romance is close to Twillight's IMO.

Wouldn't that be the other way round since VIII is older? Also how so?

Because clearly Squall is a vampire.

Well, it's better not to ask me, because if there's one romance and heroine (*cough*Rinoa*cough*) I dislike, then that's FFVIII's.

FFVIII would be the game where if someone asked me why I'm butthurt about it, I'd answer with a "it killed my mother" kind of statement lol.

But anyway, to answer your question more seriously, I dislike the romance.
It doesn't feel genuine at all. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Tidus and Yuna were much better, and so were Zidane and Garnet which grew together through their times in the game.

No, but the quality of the romance is on the same level.
Also, Squall might as well be a brooding sparkly shoujo male for all I care.

He sure acts like one.

Squall and Rinoa.

Prolly cause of sentiment.

That and the romance in FF is overally crappy anyways.
