At least I played XIII-2 to completion before hating it. Since this console gen, self entitlement of gamers thinking they know everything has become staggering, and if what they say doesn't go, they whine. If devs show balls by saying "Its our game, play it or don't" then they're out of touch. If they don't, they its "They don't take any risks anymore". I'm sorry that I'm not lowering my standards just so I can sit there and say "GAMES ARE AMAZING I HATE IT WHEN THEY'RE CRITICIZED." If we don't criticize, nothing will improve. Yes, the FF fanbase is pretty terrible, but on the plus side, we will never get a game as linear and as restrictive as FFXIII from Square Enix ever again because of the fanbase's cries. And guess what? The more we complain about Toriyama, the more Square Enix will get a clue and realize that this guy is NOT good without a leash on him.
The complaining is justified, ESPECIALLY now when they are IGNORING the cries of the fanbase to release a goddamn game that isn't set in Cocoon and/or Pulse.
Oh, and XIII-2 was terrible and it was totally not up-to-par with other Final Fantasy games.
