If Lightning were a vampire she'd be like Angel (aka has a soul, drinks animal blood for sustenance, is constantly looking for redemption, and is always trying to protect someone). So I wouldn't be worried too much... And yes, my level of nerdiness increased ten-fold just now, I know.
