They could say anyhing but what I'm noticing is:

Characters looks gorgeous from the outsides buts empty inside and full of clichés
The areas"world is gorgeous to look at but are empty.
Battle system looks fun but in fact it auto-play
Non existant linear story.
The incorporation of strange names just to make it looks more complicated ut in fact its not.
Generic music that sounds right off a porn movie.

Shall I continue ?

final fantasy used to be the mark of compelling and interesting stories with amazing character development...

rich and detailed worlds...

now its been reduced to this, the 13 series is the perfect example with everything wrong in modern game design and bad story telling.


Square used to be called "the greatest game company in the world" back in the 90's, and in the early 2000's made some of the most interesting and experimental games in existence...

vagrant story
xenogears
einhander
secret of mana
secret of evermore (the most experimental game square EVER made)
final fantasy Tactics
brave fencer musashi
final fantasy 5,6,7,9
BOTH parasite eve games
mario rpg legend of the seven stars


HOLY CRAP, they made THE best games for like 10 years straight and then BAM...

nothing.

why?

Youre reeeeaaaally overrating the plots from the older games. They werent that great.

If those games where not that great, then Final Fantasy 13 and the rest of the saga is way below the mark of being bad.

They can't make a billion games anymore.
Games in the SNES/PS1 era were relatively cheap and easy to make.
If a game fails nowadays, you're in big trouble.

I think that's a BIG problem the industry is facing. Too bad there's no UN of gaming where all competetors can gather on nuetral ground where they can come together and confront this issue and how to remedy it. This generation has been a industry killer as far as studios are concerned. So many great IPs, developers and such that have dropped out because they couldn't appease mainstream success or keep up with the COST of developing a modern gen game.

He's awesome.

Weak buildup, terrible first impression, monotonous "MWA HA HA!", laughable backstorTREE. No.

He only feels truly evil when he heartlessly kills Galuf, which is way too late to redeem him. Any other action is so silly it's laughable, and not in the half-serious way the game was going for.

Lastly, he began the trend of a series' worst villain being a tree. His successors were Quercus Alba and the Metarex, both of which give him a run for his sucktitude.
