But I wonder, who would you say is the weakest. Even the controversial ones are predominantly strong once you take mechanics and accomplishments into account.

Idk...Vaan?

I like him, but he doesn't strike me as someone who's powerful.

Ah ok, Ashe is definitely strong...

I like the DS version.

On a side note, my little brother's reaction to various FFs (in order of me showing the games to him):

FF7: "Lego block and ass boring" - he didn't really like it

FF10: "Good, I love the battle system and how I can switch characters" - I was surprised

FF3: "I love this game" - NOW I was surprised.

Just though I'd mention it lol.
