Lightning? A coward?

Just......what?

Well she did crystallize herself like a coward.

That's called strategic retreat.
There was nothing that she could do at that time so she chose to lose a battle to win the war later, it's not that Lightning has cristallized herself giving up hope since she said herself very clearly that she was just waiting the time that she would came back to fight once again.

Anyway, considering all that Lightning had to do, saying that she is a coward is completely ridiculous.

....also she cristallized herself AFTER kicking Caius' ass one last time, it's not that she ran away without fighting.

Wait what? Am I getting trolled? Let me respond in order.

1. Freezing herself did nothing strategic. Either the Chaos was going to destroy everything (rendering her freezing her useless) or the chaos would stop time and she would have all of time to fix it (rendering her freezing her useless).

2. What did lightening do exactly? Send her sister on a suicide mission? Defend the idiot god from Caius (who needed to die)?

3. OK, did you even play 13-2??? She didn't do anything of the sort, Noel and Sarah beat Caius while Lightening watched from the sidelines (allowing them to fall into Caius's trap no less). So yes, that is the definition of running away without fighting.

1. And you think that chaos and Caius would have left Lightning do as she pleases gathering her power (and maybe Etro's powers) for a future attack?
It's obvious that Lightning freezed herself in that INDISTRUCTIBLE crystal so that chaos could do nothing to stop her.
She wanted to preserve Serah's soul, so she freezed herself hoping to have another chance in the future to make things right......and probably the awakening of Bhuni is what gave her that chance (Bhuni probably needs Lightning and she must have done with him some sort of deal, maybe even to save Serah, or soething like that) .

2. Lightning tried to avoid chaos to free itself, and with all due respect it's a bit more important than her sister's life and her own life (not to mention that even Serah knew how important was that mission, that's why she herself refused to stop fully knowing that she would have died anyway)

Lightning fought for an ethernity to save MULTIPLE DIMENSIONS (not just one!!!) and she also fought to protect Etro, if you don't know how much she actually did than you have understood nothing at all.

3.Genius, the only reason Lightning was able to see what happened to Serah and Noel was because she was outside the normal timeline, BUT she couldn't go away anyway since Caius was not only to Noel and Serah, he was also fighting with Lightning!
In case you have forgotten (or haven't played Requiem of the goddess), Lightning saw what happened to Serah RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HER FIGHT AGAINS CAIUS, and that was also the only reason why Caius was able to temporarily defeat her.
From what you say it seems that she was watching Serah's fate while doing nothing and eating popcorns so, with all due respect, the one that understood NOTHING is you.

I'm assuming the feeling of multiple characters comes from the style system, which sounds like it would allow Lightning to take on entirely different gameplay dynamics depending on how you set them up.

Either way the game sounds interesting and them countering only having one character by offering what seems like the deepest customization of any FF game so far sounds promising.

Dissidia Duodecim says hai lol but yeah, customization is great! But i just really wish they would put in guest/AI/monsters as party members aswell. Also no gunblade is just lame, i want ranged weapons :(

The game’s conclusion can be experienced straight from the package. (No download content will need to be purchased afterward, unlike Final Fantasy XIII-2.)

Thank God

LOL, the game you played is much better than the one everyone else did. Especially the parts where you made up stuff that happened to make Light's cowardice seem heroic.

FYI, That doesn't mean no DLC.
