It's still present though.

But it wasn't included in a trailer.

Because it's at the end of the game, in Tales of Graces, it's in the tutorial.

So in Persona it's so late in the game it's too late to quit.

In Tales, they let you know that you must run early.

Listen. The friendship is bearable. It shows you the connection between the protagonist and antagonist. It is necessary, and again, it is bearable.

What is bearable to me and you are two different things. I bet you can play through Tales of the Abyss easily, while I was at my limit after an hour.

Honestly the linearity and the lackluster villains. It's hard for me to go back to FFXIII given how linear it is. Bart has so much potential but he was handle very poorly. Don't even get me started on Jihl. I didn't have any real problems with the actual story. I'm still trying to figure out what's so horrible about it. It's no better or worst than most of the other FF. I see far worst stories than FFXIII's. I didn't feel any real attachment to the cast, but they weren't bad except Hope at least until Chapter 9 or 10. I did like Fang and Lightning. Sazh was alright. I could take or leave Vanille and Snow.

Both.

The linearity didn't actually help the storytelling at all; stopping the major gameplay experience to read pages of information that have no context with said gameplay is just plain amateurish.
