XIII-2 was amazing. I'll admit I'm not too fond of the first half hour, but that game was truly magnificent, it received too little fanfare. What do I mean too little fanfare?
Final Fantasy XIII - 6.8 Final Fantasy XIII-2 - 7.5 Tales of Graces f - 8.4
Tales of Graces f is the worst game I've ever finished, it's criminal that it receives more fanfare than Final Fantasy XIII.
Even though I completely disagree with XIII-2 being "amazing," I must say that it's obvious that the Tales of fanbase in general has much lower standards; most openly admit to only caring about the battle system and having a likable cast.
Likeable cast can really save a lackluster story.
Likeable cast...no. And when that lackluster story filled with mostly awful voice acting, script and music continues for 42 hours, it becomes unbearable. I'm okay with people not agreeing with me in liking XIII & XIII-2, but people putting down those games for not having the best story whilst praising Tales of Graces f really gets to me.
However, I'm happy looking through these comments and finding other people who enjoyed XIII-2, I tend to only hear negative, so this is good :)
The second Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on DS. Enjoyed many Squenix games, but I've finished few of them. Every numbered Final Fantasy game I get to a part where I feel like I need to grind and I get bored and stop playing, or I just get tired of it. I played Chrono Trigger a few months ago and got close to the end, but stopped playing for no good reason at all.
