Who cares? Either Celes or Terra over Lightning anyway.

Rydia And Rosa from 4 or even going further back Maria from 2 ... all played important parts in there games moving the story forward

Hell I Believe Vanille and Fang play a Bigger role in the plot of 13 even though The focus was on Lighting

Hell Vanille and Fang were a Bigger focus in 13-2 then Lighting ... Lighting is Cloud with Boobs ... and just as boring ... she does Nothing to move the plot forward ( Unlike Sazh and Vanille ) ... She is the Vann of the game er series

Hilarious because this is going to be Lightning's first game as the main character.

Warning: FF6 spoilers for those who haven't actually played the game.

When looking at the main story of FF6 Terra is not the main character. Who protects Terra at the beginning, Locke. Who gets her to the rebels, Locke. Who rescues Celes, Locke. Who gets Terra to Ramuh, Locke. Who finds the espers in order to cure Terra, Locke. Who figures out a plan on how to get aboard the airship, Locke. Actually I have more problems figuring out what Terra did besides being a very special half-breed which later allowed her to communicate with the espers. In the first half of the game she spent most of her time being led about by other members of the party. She had some important moments but none that would IMO make her the main character.

In the world of ruin it's hard to argue that there is a single character that jumps out as the main character.

Wait, so Terra, Celes, and Yuna don't count now?

FFX is about Tidus. Yuna may have been the galvanizing force for the party but the story was viewed through Tidus' eyes.

For FFVI, I could care less about. There never was a main protagonist as far as I can tell, although Terra seemed to be the most important out of the bunch. I'd pick Terra, but it's not something I'd argue tooth and nails for.

Lol no. I suggest going back in class and learning literature back again.

The main character is the character for whom the plot exist and advance. If you were to remove that character from the equation, the storyline would crumble on it's own and would require major changes to make sense.

If you can remove a character from a story and it would require very little changes to keep the story more or less the same.

Tidus is nothing but an annoying screeching, whining little s*** stain that narrates the story. And the narrator is NOT ALWAYS THE MAIN CHARACTER OF A STORY. If it wasn't for Blitzball and the fact he wants to bone Yuna, 75% of his relevance would die right there.

The main character is Yuna. The story is about Yuna's pilgrimage. It's about Yuna's kidnappings. It's about Yuna's decisions and how it will eventually affect all of spira. Tidus is just a second fiddle. You THINK he's a main character because of his infatuation with the main character, his narration and because SOME plot twist are linked to him.

That does not make him a main character. That makes him an important secondary character. The story could very well have been made from Auron's narration, from Wakka's, from Rikku. Yes SOME parts would have had to be removed but the story would still be the same : Yuna's pilgrimage as a summoner, her entourage and how it affected Spira forever.

Locke is a big help to the main character of FF6.

Locke is less important to FFVI than Vaan is to FFXII.
His only role is to bring Terra to Edgar.

He's the main character.

SE said so, as did the dialogue.

All of those things are correct.
