Well, thus far both XIII and XIII-2 sold very well despite certain fanboys viewing it the installments as an unforgivable sin. That they can't adequately explain how the Lightning saga is a crime against humanity hurts their credibility compared to the creators themselves.

What are you talking about?

A lot of people have listed in detail why they dislike the XIII saga, and they've made very good and valid points.

Okay, they keep alternating between what was shipped and what was sold. First it was 6.6 million shipped, then it was sold, then it was shipped again, now it is sold again. KEEP YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, Kitase!

So long this game can sell at least a million copies then it's good for SE. The fans of FFXIII will buy this game so too new fans. Those who hate both previous FFXIII games most likely won't return. It as simple as that.

A game like LR doesn't have to worry about selling 4-5+ million copies. It's a cheap spin-off sequel. It doesn't have the huge budget that Versus, FFXIV ARR, and most likely AP will have. So it selling less than its predecessors is already justifiable.
