I think they should get rid of the voice actors.

I miss text boxes and imagining how the characters would sound on my own. And cheesy/melodramatic lines aren't as noticeable when you're reading it. Imagine having to listen to someone perform Squall's "I don't want to be spoken about in the past tense!" episode.

Good luck with that.

Terrible suggestion.

XIII had good voice acting. It's one of its redeeming qualities.

i dont' see how cheesey, melodrama is less obvious by reading the line. How can you understand the story if you aren't registering what you're reading? But given at how many people like get plot points wrong here, i might need to readjust my thought process.

regardless, i don't remember clearly, but couldn't you turn the voices off and just read the dialogue?

nobody owes you anything but a roll of the eye, a kick in the ass, and gaffaw at how much you suck

Maybe they shouldn't write cheesy lines, or maybe they should direct VAs not to sound so melodramatic.

What do you think it means when a girl leaves a fake mustache at your house?

I guess it is because you don't have that link up through voice that makes it obvious that people don't normally talk like that when you read it. o.o I noticed it in star ocean first departure, where you could have vocals or not. Everything said was making me cringe until I turned the voices off.

Don't worry, I can voice everybody. I got my Lightning impression down perfect. She's drunk most of the time and will sleep with the first dude she sees. But she's also an angry drunk.

And Vanille is just a whore.

I wouldn't complain honestly. Some lines just sound bad when they're read aloud.

Personally I love having voice acting, and this is coming from a girl from the Nintendo days.

It's amazing how many people are so afraid of cheese.
