Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

I really liked Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, yet I hated a bunch of others in the series (Particularily the older ones) and seeing people praise a lot of the games in the series I want to try to enjoy more of them.

And it noticed something, the older ones I played weren't voiced, while XIII & XIII-2 are, I want to get into some of the others in the series too, (I have X-2 and I liked it a bit, but it wasn't that great, but maybe it's not a good one to start with)

In a series like this where the plot is a very important factor, I have a hard time giving two ****s about characters without voices since they're essentially walking billboards. I think I could enjoy some of the other titles if I played some of them with Voice acting in them.

How is Final Fantasy X for example? There's an HD Port coming out eventually and I may pick it up then (this might make me be able to like X-2 more as well)

What about IX & VIII they look pretty neat, are they voiced? How are they as far as the series goes?

Play X and XII, they are both voiced, any FF released before X definitely isn't voiced.
