Half the enemies make no sense whatsoever.

XIII and XIII-2. Too much mechanical looking monsters and not enough organic monsters. Too many pallette swaps as well. Boring designs and dull colors as well.

At least VII tried to get creative and colorful with their monsters.

enemies from VII always look terrible. it might be one of the few flaws of VII.

I actually like the weird looking enemies like the 8 Eye, they look very Lovecraftian.

Ahh, those are some ugly ol' bastards. Though I think that's more the passage of time that makes them so hideous today and not poor design.

They overdid it. I'd rather have a bunch of semi-boring monsters that actually look like they belong in the same world, than the cluster**** that was VII's enemy design.

I hope you realize that some designs originate from original NES FFs? Saying 8 eyes is bad thats basically sacrilege :)
