Actually Elice_Carol and I've had some nice conversations - even if short, in private. She's good for a serious conversation, in my opinion. (Hope you don't mind the comment Elice!)
Thing is, some people just - either they kid around or they seriously only wish to annoy others. AKA: Troll. Sadly, it's rampant here (on GameFaq).
As said, some of it is blatant trolling and WTF-ery (maybe most of it.) Others are kidding around when they know someone and/or see someone just being clueless in a silly or ignorant way.
Right now, with the lull of news... The crazy threads are going to kind of dominate, sadly.
Anyhow, my two cents, and hopefully this will help the you (OP) and others feel better.
