XII handled party leaders way better

When the party leader dies in XII, there is a short pause. If the character is not revived during this time, the player is forced to switch character.

Imagine just how much better XIII would have been if this had been implemented. I still can't fathom how a game mechanic can be so worsened from one game to another in the same series.

tbh.. the fact that you didn't get a game over until all 6 of your characters were dead was a little cheap imo..

It was, but they dropped like flies.

At least with 3 characters that are at least a little bit resilient there might be some balance to it.

Probably. I wasn't too fond of XII though. Was abit of a yawnfest, combat wise. Hmm, I still need to finish it. :o

Coming 2014 calling it I'll be reverend on the internet by my predictions. Haters can doubt all they want but they can't deny that Versus' arrival is imminent.

Not the same. There's no pause in-between and you cannot control your Monster.

I still say, party leader should be switchable on the fly. It should be an "instant" style command without any turn penalty.
