So ign review says...

... The game falters in story.

So I'm asking you all, who have actually played, if this is true. Do you think the story was pretty empty, or do you think they do a decent job tying up loose ends?

Story has always been the factor that keeps me interested in an rpg, if the story is empty, I usually stop playing at some point, the only thing that keeps me going is if the gameplay is really really good to make up for it...

It's not too bad if you do the main quests in order but the thing is with the freedom/exploration in this game people can do the story out of order if they want so things can end up rather jumbled.

The story is pretty meh, yes, best I could put it is it's a fanservice game story wise filler with well cheesey moments kinda like a fan fiction but not quite as bad. It is not the strong suit of the title which is open world exploration and a wonderful combat system like Dragon's Dogma and Kingdoms of Amalur.

The fastest way to ruin a series you like is to get to know the other people playing it.

I think the story itself is quite uninspiring for this episode for all the other characters except Hope, Lightning and the XIII-2 cast.

FXIII and XIII-2 both had crap stories so I don't see why honestly the story of the 3rd game would break the trilogy.

At this point, I pretty much only care about the xiii-2 cast lol.

XIII was terrible in terms of narrative.

Really? As a Vanille and Fang I was quite satisfied with the resolution of their story. I was happy with Vanille's importance to the plot, also that she was one of the people Light saw along with Hope and Serah) ^_^

Xiii-2 wasn't bad either, it was just more of a seperate title. I think it would have done better, with all the time travel, to actually work into and possibly manipulate events in xiii however.
