has anyone noticed how lighting facial expressions changed after she "found" her self as Lumina claire thing. It's the scene when she Is reunite with NORA crew.
and the same with train ending. even when she Is not smiling you see how happy and relaxed she Is.caius and Noal scene was cute.

One thing I didn't get when she stepped out of the train she said " one thing I know that soon, we'll be together"
did she meant her sister and NORA crew?
didn't they all land In the planet together as the white thing?
or they are separate In a different country?

I like the story and the meaning behind it. also final fantasy games always gives me a different gaming experience with that said I think final fantasy has the best soundtrack and VFX.
Now excuse me off to watch the ending In jp ver.

She and the others got seperated and in the ending she was going to meet up with them. Which is what she ment when she said they'd be together.

Spoiler tags just in case.

For those that don't mind subtitles it's definitely worth watching in both English and Japanese. I can't speak for other languages as I don't have access to them but I enjoyed both voice acting sets.

I could write a long post explaining why the person she's going to meet is Hope, but it's not 100% confirmed.

No, they didn't land together. In fact, Lightning has been keeping contact with most of her friends, except for Hope. Hope is the only one who has no idea where Lightning is. Lemme get on my computer, mobile is a pain...

Okay, first of all...

1. Reminiscence - Tracer of Memories
There's a follow up to LR's epilogue describing all of the characters' lives in the new world. A compilation is here at my tumblr(credits to Galvea and @tensai_shoujo):
http://kaiho-sha.tumblr.com/post/91355840492/ffxiii-reminiscence-tracer-of-memories-is-a

Special attention to Hope's chapters, 1 and 8, Lightning's chapter, and this interview with lead writer Daisuke Watanabe: http://kaiho-sha.tumblr.com/post/90668845427/

What do we know from these?
1. Hope does not know where Lightning is. (Hope's Chapter)
2. Daisuke Watanabe said Lightning is going to meet someone she hasn't met for a long time. ??? Amodar? Odin?? Papa Farron?? I don't think so.
3. Lightning has been heard of Aoede from her friends, which means they have been in contact. It is not said who, but everyone seems to roughly know where Lightning is except for Hope.
4. The novel ended with the line "May this woman, who was once a brilliant light in “that other world”, chance upon hope — this was the wish I made, and it was like a prayer, a promise". The lead writer said he paid special attention to writing this line.

That's why I feel it is Hope based on the novel...

Outside of the novel and just purely on the game alone - something is very important in terms of the words chosen, both for the English and Japanese versions respectively.

English:
2. "We'll be together"
What does this mean? It is a mimicry of what Hope said when he saved Lightning from the abyss.
"It's okay, Light. We heard your voice. Let's go. We'll be together."

The game bounces around things Hope and Lightning have in their bond, such as Lightning asking Hope while she was in Yusnaan "Eyes front, right?" and expecting Hope to say "I got your back" in reference to Gapra Whitewood, but he did not and it worried her.

Also, lines like "Some things in life you just do", etc. There's a lot of stuff like that.

When Hope disappears before the final day, he does acknowledge her words. What "We'll be together" is, is just another mimicry of HIS words, instead of him mimicking hers.

Now I know based on the words before "We heard your voice.", "We'll be together." can easily mean "The whole gang, we'll be together.", but this is just my personal interpretation.

Now in Japanese...
3. "We'll be together" Part 2.
No, neither Lightning nor Hope says that in the Japanese version. When Hope rescues her it doesn't say "We heard your voice", but rather, "I heard your voice. Let's go meet everyone."

So what does Lightning say at the epilogue instead of "We'll be together?" She says "Ah, ai ni iku yo", which means "Oh, I'll be meeting you." When Hope disappears in the Japanese version, he says "I'm so glad I met you." This is just kind of a reference to that.

Also, ding ding ding - What is the title of the theme song for Hope's disappearance scene - "To meet you."

The epilogue theme and "To meet you" shares the same tempo of a violin solo accompanied by a harp, even if not the same rhythm. Okay, I was just kidding, scratch that.

I could write more stuff that stands on shakier ground, but I will not. What does this mean? There isn't necessarily a romantic relationship or anything with Hope, but I know with certainty that she is going meet Hope.

At the end of the day, the writer left it open - She's free to meet whoever she wants, what's important is that she's free now and it makes me happy because she's happy and free.

How the hell she Is going to meet them If she did not know where they are?
one thing I wished it happen Is their reaction to the" new world" our plant. that would be nice.

Yeah well when I started playing the game I didn't know there was DLC for that.
and I liked the japanese voice acting better!
some meaning lost In translations. like the use of -san etc
and there is a scene between light and snow. he called light sis It seems weird and she responded " I'm not your sister" It looked awkward and I didn't get It till I watched the japanese ver.

but how? light landed In france "I think" and we don't know anything about the rest.
I read tracer of memories that was on your tumblr chapter 2 wasn't translated.

Yes, but chapters 2-4 are not very relevant to who she is meeting.

Regarding where Lightning is in the epilogue, it's most likely France. Three places I suspect are:

-Alsace
-Meriel/Le Blanc, near Paris
-Dammartin-Juilly Saint-Mard

I'm too lazy to post the reasons and the photos.

lol that comment that I made before I saw your other explanation comment.

so It's all about hope and light? huh.
and that's clever the use of word play.
kinda make sense now with the novel and the translation.

so assuming light have been in contact with her friends except hope, and vice versa he has been in contact with has friends but not light. why?
since they know where she is why he did not bother asking about her?
he promised her after all. :c

It remembered of 5 centimeter per second complicated relationship and untold feelings and train moments of anticipating meetings. holy **** I'm getting emotional here.

SOME meaning lost? How about the translation being completely off what is being said in English?

Also, the place is meant to look like some european setting, it was never officially stated to BE france.

And while I do sorta ship HopexLight, I don't think it's him she's looking for. (And I don't count those novels as continuations, they're about as official as the Maiden travelling the Planet, which was a terrible bore of a read - also incredibly dumb)

But maiden is a spin off novel written by an external writer and is the only novel out of all SE's novels to have disputed canon-ness.

The LR novel is absolute canon and is written by the same person who wrote the entire XIII series.
