Oh my yes. It's like if Pokemon and Call of Duty fans came together to play one game.

I cry myself to sleep every night when I think about how much more popular it is than here.

Well look at the bright side. It's because of its lower popularity here that we get to play online for free.

Not even close.

Worlwide sales:

Monster Hunter- 21 million

CoD- 100+ million

Pokemon 200+ million

its popular in japan, but your comment fails on every level.

I wasn't saying the Japanese sales outmatched the worldwide sales of the other two franchises because that's a mathematical impossibility.

And a failure on every level? Right. Except we're talking about Japan sales so maybe you shouldn't use "worlwide" figures when making your point.

In 2011 the Monster Hunter series (in Japan) took in 2,290,897 total while Pokemon and Call of Duty pulled in a combined total of 1,388,207 all together.

And yes, as a whole Pokemon has out-sold Monster Hunter but Pokemon came out in 1996 and Monster Hunter in 2004, so maybe you should be a little realistic man.

Well...yeah. Call of Duty outsells pretty much every game in America. I mean it's Call of Duty. Modern Warfare 3 sold 7,174,891 in America in 2011 on the Xbox 360 alone. That's crazy.

But in Japan the 360 version only sold...I dunno 100,000 total in 2011? It was much lower. Handheld gaming is more the rage in Japan. Where titles like Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Mario, etc. sell very well.

Basically, in America Call of Duty and Pokemon both individually cream sales of Monster Hunter as a whole. But in Japan the sales charts for a given year can belong to either Pokemon or Monster Hunter. With Call of Duty a distant memory.

Monster Hunter sold PSP's in Japan. And with Monster Hunter 4 coming out exclusively on the 3ds it'll be interesting to see what happens to the sale figures.
