Sony, especially SoA, has become extremely arrogant over the course of the last gen or so (Remember the "The next gen starts when we say it does" comments?", and MH basically saved their bacon in the handheld console race. It's not at all an exaggeration to say it was one of the few reasons the PSP survived its awful early years.
There's really no reason for anyone to be rooting for Sony, except nostalgia. Not that Microsoft and Nintendo are wonderful, but they're rarely as openly antagonistic to their consumers and collaborators as Sony is --- KILLING ME WON'T BRING BACK YOUR GODDAMN HONEY
They didn't help as much as they could, Sony has openly lamented that they didn't bring From inhouse, and that Demon's Souls should have been 1st party.
Which is why Dark Souls was multiplatform, after DS got From the cashflow to go multi.
Sony's 1st party offerings have always been pretty weak, as evidenced by the embarrassing lineup for that Sony All-Stars game. Literally Fat Princess as a marquee character, lmfao --- KILLING ME WON'T BRING BACK YOUR GODDAMN HONEY
