I really hope they change their minds on the Wii U + MH3U bundle

If they released the Wii-U version with Monster Hunter + Pro controller packed in over here in the UK, that would be what makes me buy the Wii-U.

I know it likely won't happen, but it would push me to buy it for sure.

Think there is even the slightest chance of it? Probably not :\...

I'm really hoping for it. Makes me wonder how many people are buying a Wii U because of this game. This is really the first big title I see coming out for the console, followed by several other big hitters of course, like the upcoming Smash Bros. title and whatever Zelda game they pump out next.

I'm quite excited for this game, and I know having a Wii U will be worthwhile because of it. But I'm concerned with the console's future, and if they have anything truly worthwhile planned, other than more MH titles, which seems likely.

I remember buying my Wii and only playing a handful of games, such as Twilight Princess, and RE4, then leaving it to collect dust and then putting my copy of MH Tri inside to basically merge and become part of the system, since from release and to this day I never removed the disc, lol.

Haha!

I never played Tri. I was disappointed with the Wii to be honest with you because I never liked the controller. I owned it from day one, but only a couple of games ever really got my attention (animal crossing, Super paper Mario, Mario Kart Wii, SMG 1+2, RE4 and chronicles). I think that's pretty much it? I hated the floatiness of brawl and the motion controls of Zelda TP.

But I know I missed out on a fantastic game. Love the MH series and it's been years since I have played one. I also love the concept of the tablet far more than motion controls.

Really just can't wait for this game. I'll get it for my 3DS for sure, but the online is enough for me to buy-in with the Wii-U version.

I'd buy the bundle here in the US if they released it in March. But I doubt they will have the bundle outside of Japan.

All I really want is a 3ds+WiiU game bundle. Or at least a 3ds hard cover pre-order bonus. Yeah i'm simple.

ITT, Black Ops II, Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, and Assassin's Creed III don't exist.

ITP: Implying that any of those other than Arkham City are any good, and Arkham City itself is a port with performance issues. Then again they are still "big" titles regardless of perceived quality, so maybe you have a point after all.

What's the difference?

Go to a random store and get all items you want, kabam, you have a nice bundle!

It's not like Nintendo is making customized systems. It's the same s*!

I hate to hijack the topic, but I feel this is a subject I should give my input in.

First of all, I do agree that Mass Effect 3, Assassin's Creed 3, and all the other big name games that have been remade for the Wii U shouldn't be included in the list of "major titles" for the system. These games are ports that have come late into the game for people with a PS3/Xbox 360, and the fact that said ports are for a system that is part of the next generation after the Wii/Xbox 360/PS3 only compounds that fact.

That said, and as someone with a Wii U, I believe there is exactly -one- game currently released that is a "big" title for the system: Zombi U. It has solid, challenging gameplay, and it also makes excellent use of the tablet's screen.

Now to try to get somewhat back on topic. As much as I love Monster Hunter, I don't see Ultimate being a "big" title for the Wii U. There has already been a significant effort made in advertising Tri, only for it to have had underwhelming sales in the west. As such, I don't think that Ultimate will receive the the same commercial treatment that Tri did.

It had underwhelming sales because it came out on the underwhelming Wii. We're getting a bigger game with a console near launch, followed by the next installment in the series for the 3DS. MonHun will become the next biggest thing to hit Nintendo since that other monster game with the Chikorita.
