Then once I saw how useful and fun some weapons were against other monsters, I decided to retry some of the older games so I could use some of the other weapons as well. (Currently playing MHFU and MHP3rd as we speak)
Hell if you looked at MHP3rd boards I actually asked about using a gunlance which I was against when It first came out. I never realized how much fun it could be until I actually put some effort into learning it. The same thing with the SNS, lance, Longsword, and Bowguns. I didnt really like them untill I tried using them.
Cant say the same for Bows and switch-axes though. Bowguns I tried and found okay, bows I did not and gave up on. Same with Switch-axes. Just never found any fun in using them.
Ill always stick with the GS as my "go to," weapon for majority of the game, but once I get high enough in Rank, Ill probably start branching off again.

My most hated weapon is the SnS. The reason is that it sucks in killing things fast. Well what about a group of four SnS users? Easily beaten by any other weapon (with HH returning, SnS will not be the worst). I think that speed + damage matters and SnS, even with massive elemental damage, is not as good as other weapons. Source: every video I watch on YouTube pretty much..... Even speed runs have SnS not notable. |
