Hey,

I spent most of my time with Tri on Wii as a Sword´n Shield-hunter. For Ultimate, I thought about changing to Dual Blades, which, in my imagination, is similar to SnS in terms of speed and agility, but with more focus on offense and an active play style.

But so I can start out well adjusted come March, could anybody who´s experienced in Dual Blades from previous MH-games talk a bit about the differences to SnS and what makes it fun over other weapon classes?

Thanks a lot!

They're not similar at all. Best advice is to wait for the game and practice.

The good thing about the demo is you'll be able to try out every weapon type, so wait for the demo and try it out.

I'm predicting I put at least 30 hours into the demo.

Unfortunately the demo will most probably have a download limit, or worse a time limit.

My advice would be to not use either one of those things.

Bring mega juice, lots of it. If not, get constitution. The ds can use a special combo called demonization, and if your first hit of the combo is a critical, the rest will be a critical hit. In mhp3rd, the ds have been revamped to have a bar, just like the ls. I'll let you figure out the rest. The ds is hella fun, but i prefer hunting horn.

Stick with SnS. Dual Sword is the beginner version of that.

Cant let go of the SnS....

Getting the Block skills with it and blocking anything with that tiny shield was too much fun. Especially with the Nardebosche. Its shield has claw, and whenever you fly back after blocking a big hit, it looks like youre scraping the ground to stop yourself.

Im really hoping for more shield attacks this time around.
