All of this looks pretty boss. It is unfortunate that they don't include two monsters I've been wanting to fight for awhile: Akura Jebia and Akura Vashimu. --- Rest in Peace City of Heroes: April 27, 2004 - November 30, 2012. One thing I noticed in the demo that I've not seen anyone else mention so far is that torches and dark areas seem to be gone. In Tri you could grab a torch from the supply box and can wield it in your off hand (SnS was the only weapon that could still attack while wielding it though). You could swing it around and it would scare certain monsters like Jaggi's and the little Gigginox worms. You could also use it to light torches in the environment to provide light which was essential in certain fights such as the aforementioned Gigginox. It seems the torches were removed and the areas that were too dark to see clearly without lighting torches are just lit up now, at least in the demo. I'm guessing its the same for the final game? I wonder why they removed that? Dynamic lighting was too hard to do on PSP/3DS maybe? Also does this mean they removed day/night cycle as well? In Tri some missions were at night, which had a big effect on the desert zone (needed to stay warm at night, but cool during day) and it would actually cycle the time during Free Hunt and it was useful to bring a torch with you while wandering around at night time. --- www.zauron.net www.crazyvikingstudios.com

I dont think the day and night are gone as i have read about some of the quests in the village being done at night. Was weird to see no hot drinks in the demo though when fighting in the tundra...i assume that was only for the demo.
does anyone know if you can play MH3U on game-pad only as i have a nagging wife and 2 little kids under 2 years old so my tv time is minimal at best.... also as soon as i can i'm getting my hands on this game so feel free to message me for a tag team. I'm a master hunter (massive fan of the series since ps2 and have completed every game i've had my hands on) so not looking forward to the Narga sub species.... but anyway i've got the demo and theres no pad view option there... --- Stay Quietly In My Memories - Cloud Strife, Advent Children

They originally weren't going to have that option, but changed their minds and are releasing a patch for this in April that allows game-pad only play and Multi-Region Play. --- That, or the classic Bullfango Marvel vs. Capcom Assist. One thing I saw in another thread is that sub-quests are gone in this version, so that's another difference from Tri. Also clarification on what I said before - torches DO exist, however, all the dark areas are fully lit anyway, so they serve little purpose aside from scaring certain monsters. --- www.zauron.net www.crazyvikingstudios.com
