I'm going to be new to MH when this comes out in March. So I want to know what weapon classes are the best so I don't get ROFLstomped on my first try. Feel free to debate if you want, its all to my, and other newcomers benefit. --- NNID: xXDaKidXx (The Wonderful 101 Board needs more people) Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/DaKidWiiTrailers <--[Updates, Trailers, Reviews, and more!]

There's no best weapon class in monster hunter, only weapon you are best at using. So just pick any weapon. --- When someone say plz because it's shorter than please, I say no because it's shorter than yes. http://www.facebook.com/groups/Club1kjho/
There's gotta be a tier list right? I know tiers4quires --- NNID: xXDaKidXx Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/DaKidWiiTrailers <--[Updates, Trailers, Reviews, and more!]

Nope. Every weapon has its pros and cons.

there are rough tiers for each individual monsters, certain weapons are better against specific monsters than other weapons are, but overall, all weapons are about the same if you are good at them
if you want to optimize your overpowered-ness, play all the weapons and pick the best monster match-ups

There may be no weapon better than another, but there are are weapons that are easier to use. From personal experience, bowguns are the most difficult to learn and lances are the easiest to learn and possibly use in Tri. I carted every so often with various weapons, but when I used the lance, I never carted again. Now, the bow seems like it would be easy to use in Ultimate and I'm eagerly waiting to try it out. --- "Can you draw two M&Ms fighting with katanas?" -Me http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/9606/mmfight.png -aDubiousNotion

Start out with sword and shields or with hammers.
One word of warning - you may notice at first that the controls feel quite different from other games; there are very specific gameplay reasons behind every single movement, distance covered, and timing of these animations.
Do not be turned off by this - it takes no time to get over them. But yeah, the best thing would be to try out each class in a training quest to learn and implement each one's mechanics and movesets. But yeah, SnS and hammers are fairly easy to get into, at least in my experience. --- 6 MONTHS!? Jesus that's a long attention span... I'm lucky if I can pay attention for more than

You're most likely bound to get ROFLstomped in your very first try, let alone your first MH. The learning curve is immense in MH in general. --- MHT: Zyzax MH3U: Hopefully the same, if not for some reason, TriforceKnight(also my NN id)
