So will the event quests be permanent?

I hear a lot of people talking about "free DLC" when describing what is clearly the week-long event quests I remember playing in Tri. But they seem to be implying that the quests will remain available permanently when downloaded. Is this true, or are they just misinterpreting things? And if it's the former, will you still have a limited time to download the quests, or could someone who gets the game next year just download the entire set?

Because I would not object to everybody having unlimited opportunities for the Sharq Attaq: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100513022114/monsterhunter/images/d/d3/SharqAttaq-SS2.jpg

In previous PSP MH games, once the event quests were available, they stayed available forever. So you can download them whenever you want and keep them on your console/handheld as long as you want and do them as many times as you want.

I believe it works the same on MH3U

Three things.

1. As long as the server hosting the downloads is up, you can download them at any time. Whether you can join Event Quests you haven't downloaded, I'm not sure about. New quests are added to the download section almost every week for several months after the game's release. Say, once the Flooded Forest Free-For-All quest is released and you download it, it will be available to play forever, as even if the servers eventually go down you can play all quests you have without an internet connection.

2. Alluring Dress, the quest to get the Shark Tickets for the Sharq Attaq Lance, is now a normal High Rank quest and doesn't require downloading. The quest itself is the same, slay 30 Sharq without anything other than your weapon. Sharq Attaq also gets an upgrade path this time, making it more effective. The final upgrade has 414 attack, 600 Water, 0% affinity, no slots and natural white sharpness (purple with Sharp+1).

3. Here are all the Event Quests released for the Japanese version, it's likely our list will eventually be identical or at least very similar. Use Google Translate or whatever: http://www10.atwiki.jp/mh3g/pages/157.html

Well that's a win-win. As much as I loved the main aspect of MH3, my favorite individual memory was when my friend and I both got the Sharq Attaq and then used the charge attack at each other. Because... shark jousting. What else needs to be said?

In MHP3rd, if you tried to join an event quest that you haven't downloaded, it will attempt to download it before you are added to the party.

If I recall, pretty much all of the event quest items (or at least all of the licensed ones) had different skins between the English and Japanese versions of Tri, correct? And that's likely to happen again in this one? So that means no Sharq-charging while wearing a Giroro mask.
