Some items during quest turned into resources?

I'm pretty new to MH and started the first quest last night (gathering unique mushrooms). I noticed that after I completed the quest at base camp, a few (but not all) of the miscellaneous items I picked up from killing some random things showed up on the quest screen being turned into resource points. Why did it do this for some of the items I picked up?

Those items have a little yellow tag that says they're account items. They turn into money, basically.

No worries.

Those items have no purpose but to be turned into resource points. Nothing wrong here.
