Really, i have been playing this game since it came out in japan on 2011, i didnt actrually ever played tri, been a ps2/psp/psv monhun gamer. well as i was saying, i have visited japanese forums since dec 2011 for this game and before that for my MHP3rd on psp(now on the vita) and noone have ever called it Leno in the country it originated. so why do we have to act like lil children and make up stupid names when their original name is better?
ps. even nintendo has gone down that road, example
Jinouga became zinogre Guran Miraos became dire miralis etc, etc, etc there are a bunch of them misstranslations in this game, sony didnt do any of it, at least that bad. gameplay, still awesome and wouldnt change it, but on translations, they need a new employee. --- Screenshot it or it didnt happen.
Jinouga has always been intended to be Jin/Zinogre. Jinouga is simply the phonetic romanization of the japanese name, but Zin and Jin have the same sound in Japanese, and "ouga" has always been the japanese loanword for "ogre". The intention is incredibly obvious when you look at the armor, which (for female bm and male gunner) has big white hair and horns, characteristic of japanese ogre(oni)/samurai style armor.
You don't call the Ogre in "Tactics Ogre" here "Takutikusu Ouga" either. You're just used to the fan translation of Jinouga which is why you think it's stupid.
Feel free to correct mine and make them better, I didn't put that much thought into them. --- So I don't have to say this constantly I'm from South Africa, I wait a month or 2 after Europe to get new releases
I call azuros Yogi bear..or yogi.. Leno..big chin...self explanitory when you look at it ^.^ Sometimes I call zinogre fluffy. "heeeere fluffy" don't say that over the mic..every time i have the bugger doesn't leave me be --- Friend code: 4684-2994-7877 (random code, not sure what it's for 4124-4604-9480)
