Next huge update on consoles, to be revealed soon

Vast majority don't use this gun competively. Its gets its usage mainly from being unlocked at default, and people trying to get gold and diamond on snipers. Even then, I see the dsr50 and FAL get used way more. I'm the only person I know on the wii u that mains this gun, and I use it often and I'm actually decent with it.

As somebody who marathoned the SVU to gold in one night, from nothing. I hope it isn't touched balance wise

Anyone who wants diamond in a weapon category should have to deal with one crap weapon, for pistols it's the executioner, for shotties it's the m12, specials has the shield, launchers are tough in general, ARs and SMGs don't really have as bad of choices, but have more weapons in general.

TL,DR I'm proud of my diamond snipers and want to keep them rare.

What does lag compenstion have to do with this?

Switch times, ADS times, and similar stats mean jack squat when you are on the right and wrong side of lag compensation. Under ideal circumstances this would mean something, but not everyone benefits from lag comp. Which is why lap comp plays a huge role in stats not meaning much.

Oh look I got the jump on him with the best weapon in the game!

*open fire, gets killed by oppenent. Killcam and theater mode shows no shots fired from you*

Now tell me in common scenarios like this how weapon stats mean so much.

I'm also going with personal experience using all the guns I mentioned in my argument, as well how often those guns are used against me.

Which differs from user to user. You may not see the SVU used as much, but just because you have doesn't mean your own personal experiences take precedence over others. In my case, I see the SVU used more so than the SMR and XPR. But glancing over this thread, plenty of people see the SVU, and they agree that it needs no buff whatsoever.

Unless you're a wuss and go for osoks in hc

Having no minimap, HUD, and more lethal weapons makes HC players pansies?

So why don't people answer my questions then?

How often do you see the svu-as used, vs fal and dsr50? Often
How often do you get owned by an svu-as user? Often
How is this gun over powered? I personally think it is fine the way it is
How does it beat the dsr, fal, and smr? Through lag comp

Come again? You can't just come in here and basically call some of us morons like that without backing it up. Hint: It doesn't make you look smart.

Please Mr. Expert, explain to me why in OFFLINE splitscreen mode it's not "an actual problem" when actions are delayed a couple hundred milliseconds (almost mimicking online lag).

I've already explained in detail that
a) this is part of how games built for the internet work
b) its not unique to Black Ops
c) the delay is not a couple of hundred milliseconds
d) goes away when both players are moving

The game is not designed for play on LAN's where everyone has the same ping, its designed for the internet. It's really irritating that no one has bothered to try testing other internet games to see if they behave similarily in this regard.

Cubsfan writes at length that lag compensation in this game is terrible. Maybe it is, I've had my own share of WTF moments dying from players I never saw. But there is no "camera issue". I'd appreciate it if people would stop citing that as proof the game is fundamentally broken. Its only proof the game was written for the internet.

More people will get golden and diamond guns as time passes, regardless. OSOK to the head with a silencer has no affect on how fast one gets the osok camou challenges done on the svu-as either.

Even if it was made easier, nobody can take away what you went through to get it.

Also, I don't see how getting the SVU-AS gold by playing HC, is anything to be overly proud about. Not discounting HC mode itself or your paystyle. Just saying that most people cop out and go the easy way by getting guaranteed osoks in hc to get the osok camou challenges faster for svu-as. Nothing to write home about, imo. I'm nearing my 220th osok, and its all from core and using the wiimote.

Literally wondering why you guys are so excited for something that's most likely going to make this game worse than it already is.

Already said at least 3-4 times through out this whole argument why smr, fal, and the other 3 srs outclass the svu-as, since the 4th message on this thread. Not repeating it again. Don't be ignorant if you're gonna argue against me about this. Learn2read.

Lag compensation affects everyone and all guns regardless. How id the svu-as suddenly avantageous over the other guns cause of lag comp? If lag compensation gave the svu-as an unfair advantage, it would get more use than the DSR and FAL, and you'd be killed by competant svu-as users way more than competant FAL and DSR users. But it isn't, and thats how it is on all platforms, regardless if Wii U actually gets more lag comp or not, over ps3, 360, and pc versions.

Also, I didn't say researching say stats is what matters most. Anyone can get a feel of how a gun feels through personal anecdotal evidence. But anecdotal evidence may be misrepresented or experienced inaccurately sometimes by individuals, and are subjective to an extent unless throughly tested, and are recorded by a the community as a whole.. In game gun stats are the objective truth and explains how guns behave and which ones are the most powerful, and why. They aren't like humans, and are programmed to follow commands and are meant to be used by us. The stats link I posted earlier comes from a combination of stats ripped from the game, and people meticuously testing the game mechanics with programs through scientific method themselves.

SMR and XPR aren't seen too often because they are late level unlocks, and they're outclassed by the FAL and DSR50--which are unlocked much earlier than the former and more powerful and easier to use.

Only reason SVU-AS is the second most used sniper, is because its a default sniper, its not too hard to use, and people do it for the challenge of getting gold, then forget about it. 90% of snipers use DSR50, because they don't like weak inconsistent osok sniper rifles. FAL gets more usage over the SVU-AS also, because its way easier to use in most ranges, and beats it in 10 categories. Most people who play cod, don't even look up in game stats, but will know almost right away from personal experience using guns which are the most powerful+easiest to use, and how often other people use them in online multi. The most powerful guns will always be used the most often, and people will die from those guns the most, because of ease of use+power+versatility.

The people who actually think the svu-as is too powerful, are just a vocal minority, and don't know what they're talking about.

But the reality is that this gun is more than balanced. Hardly any legit complaints have ever been made about this gun on callofduty.com and gamefaqs on 360/ps3 boards, even though they are ran by morons that complain about everything, the vast majority of compaints are about how long it takes to get gold.

And I main the svu-as. I see it used far less than the dsr and fal, and have yet to see someone actually use it effectively and own others, since launch week when some dude on my team was getting multiple kills in raid with an acog. This gun takes a higher learning curve than smr and fal, and the other 3 srs to be used used effectively, and even then, still not as effective as the two semi auto ars from cqc to med-long range, and effectively fulfilling a traditional sniper rifle role.
