Is the online community really that small?

I finished up all the games I have and want to play on Wii U and I'm considering getting this just to have something else to play.

I have a 360 and a PS3 as well, but I want to get the Wii U version so I can play on the Gamepad while my fiance watches TV.

Is the community really that small at peak hours or are people just complaining to complain? (This is the GameFAQs Wii U board after all)

Yes, it's drastically smaller than the PS360 communities. But most modes (outside of party games and league play) are playable at peak hours. Most people flock to TDM of course.

It's not ideal, but it's not bad either.

I play with the same people kind of frequently, to the point where if I don't change my emblem, people recognize me.

It's even worse for us I Europe, fewer players, hard to find objective games and lag. I hope the community will grow, WiiU haven't been out for a long time and many players have connection problems.

To bad cuz the game in itself is very good in many ways.

I haven't seen more than 2500 or so at a time. My daughter is amazed that I keep recognising people in games. On the 360 she hardly ever runs into the same people frequently.

I wish more people played multi-team. It's good for a laugh every now and then.

It has been as high as 3,998 from my view, others have reported over 4,100 on weekends. That IMO is not bad, I mean by all accounts the U still has not sold 1 million units in the the US last itme I looked, and we are getting near MW3 numbers with about 3% of the amount of consoles.
