Cubfan082 posted... Waggy17 posted...Cubfan082 posted...Waggy17 posted...I attempted to find out which ports are being used by Black Ops II, and I believe I figured out what ports are needed. I'm not sure if there are any others, or if this is the complete list, but after forwarding the following ports, it resulted in an Open NAT without needing to place the Wii U in the DMZ: No, I have my Wii U set up with a static IP. My router designates a static IP to the Wii U based on the Wii U's MAC address. This way, I can let my Wii U set up the connection automatically. I can then let my router do port forwarding, DMZ and static IP on its own without the need to change settings on my Wii U. --- [iQ]Waggy/Time2Pan[iQ] - 1814-6320-1343 || [PHX]Cinder - 3670-8922-4025 || PSN/NNID - Waggy777 http://gephx.webs.com/ || http://www.youtube.com/user/waggystg
I read on the official support you should either do DMZ or Port forwarding, not both. They didn't say why then. I had both but removed the Port forward when I read it. --- WiiKing ~ N3R0S

DMZ forwards any ports not designated for forwarding to the IP address listed in the DMZ, so if you're using DMZ then there's no point in port forwarding. --- [iQ]Waggy/Time2Pan[iQ] - 1814-6320-1343 || [PHX]Cinder - 3670-8922-4025 || PSN/NNID - Waggy777 http://gephx.webs.com/ || http://www.youtube.com/user/waggystg

You need to post more info, like what router you're using and settings such as Wireless Security --- [iQ]Waggy/Time2Pan[iQ] - 1814-6320-1343 || [PHX]Cinder - 3670-8922-4025 || PSN/NNID - Waggy777 http://gephx.webs.com/ || http://www.youtube.com/user/waggystg
I just use my old Rocketfish LAN adapter that I use to use with my Wii. Definitely a more stable connection, but the lag comp in this game is something that will never get fixed on our end. I've never had good results after port forwarding. --- &.Nay

I have a netgear and use WPA2, don't know the model number off hand, but I think there is an 8 as the first digit in it. --- Did you really just instruct someone to search the Internet for the truth? Alright, well, I'll just try to make this as general as possible. First, I recommend to just reset your router to factory settings. Make sure anything important is saved, like if you have port forwarding already set up for other devices. For security, I recommend you to continue to use WPA2. Also, set it up for AES algorithms if you have the option, but not TKIP or TKIP+AES. You should at least be able to connect your Wii U to your router and your router to the internet if you have Automatic Configuration of DHCP as your connection type and those security settings. Set your Internet IP address and DNS Address to automatically obtain it from your ISP if you have to make those selections. Your Wii U's MAC address is located under System Settings, then the Internet section which is the first one. You'll select View MAC Address. When entering this number, you'll format it as XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX. Under LAN IP Setup, you'll find where you can reserve a static IP for specific devices. Address Reservation is where you'll need to enter your Wii U's MAC address and an IP address that falls in the range of your DHCP server. Click Add and then enter the required information. Make sure Use Router as DHCP Server is selected on the LAN IP Setup screen. WAN Setup is where you'll find the option to put your Wii U's designated IP address in the DMZ, so select the check box next to Default DMZ Server and enter your Wii U's IP address. --- [iQ]Waggy/Time2Pan[iQ] - 1814-6320-1343 || [PHX]Cinder - 3670-8922-4025 || PSN/NNID - Waggy777 http://gephx.webs.com/ || http://www.youtube.com/user/waggystg |
