BluesMX90Posted 9/20/2012 4:20:58 PM(edited) | Sure in the first two games you were given choices, but all they did was slightly change the dialogue of your partner or the npc, and other times it was to choose between one of two places to go next when you were out exploring, but if you picked the wrong one, you would just go in a circle and end up choosing the other option to progress in the story. (Correct me if I'm wrong, by the way, because I haven't played them in a while.)
I think it would be kind of interesting if each choice you made would change the direction of the story a bit.
So what do you think? Good idea, or bad? --- Official Totodile of the PMD: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth Board |

I just want to say that I felt like trolling you for some reason.... I'm sorry. Anyways, I do like this idea, but at the same time I always go through each option and see how they play out, and with the length of the PMD games I wouldn't be able to do that. Maybe just on a few options, and they could lead down a road where your team is seen in a different light by the world. AngelPeachPosted 9/20/2012 5:32:51 PM | Well, the only reason I don't see it happening is because I think if they were going to do that, it might have happened in Explorers. However, the reason I like the idea is because I like it when my choices actually has an effect on the story. |

I think the idea was you'd be able to take the weaker route to grind a bit if you need to so the game doesn't become unwinnable. Branching paths would be interesting. B/W's version differences were pretty good about having different ways of playing through the same thing. We might see something similar here. Maybe the story plays out different depending on if you encounter Zekrom or Reshiram first. --- I, do, no,t, hav,e, a, c,o,m,m,a, p,ro,,,b,,l,em,,,,, You may not include spoiler tags in your signature :( |

It was obvious which way was the way forward (all dead ends ended with "path"), so it's not like it was a maze or anything. Also the only place those appeared was on the expedition, the first of 3 places in the game where you can't return to the guild to grind and do missions, and thus the one you're most likely to be under-leveled for. |
Darkfire208Posted 9/20/2012 10:31:55 PM | I was thinking during Sky that they should have some different responses/actions from starter and partner based on what their nature is. Instead of that deciding the species of Pokemon.
For example, if your partner was a brave nature, he wouldn't be so caught up with fear when approaching the guild. They could make the same event happen, but in another way. Or at the very least they could change some dialogue and responses. |

AngelPeachPosted 9/21/2012 6:37:29 AM | I like that idea as well, as it could change the story up a little. However, certain scenes would have to be tweaked for certain natures.
For example, a brave nature. Sure, one who is brave wouldn't be so startled on going into the guild itself. However, without a small tweak to the scene, which can be very easily done, this messes up two things.
1. You are still knocked out on the beach.
2. Koffing and Zubat of Team Skull probably won't attack a braver Pokemon. Especially since it shows that they like to pick on 'wimps.'
Personally, I wanted the natures to reflect on the human player, since you did take a quiz to determine your Pokemon. I mean, we didn't take the quiz for the partner, we took it for ourselves. Even with our memories gone, couldn't our nature reflect into the human turned Pokemon? Heck it could reword the lines of the hero a little, like the partner gets some reworded lines depending on what Pokemon he/she is. |
