Only thing they have said is that the PS4 will contain a "Very Large" harddrive.
So don't expect a 20 GB harddrive, I don't even think anybody still produces those.

The Wii U lol

Flash memory is not a harddrive...

8gb, but you can buy larger hard drives and go to the PSN to format them. : )

It will most likely have a hybrid drive, as some manufacturers have already stopped making 2.5 inch HDD's and the rest will most likely move the same way.

I imagine a 400GB and an 800GB but they will probably focus on compression to take advantage of increased read/write speed so that they can get more on the drives.

Nobody is complaining about the speed of storage on consoles that loudly so its not a huge priority but everyone will complain about lack of space.

Let's all remember this guys 400gb and 800gb post. Ha ha ha ha ha! Riiight : )

500GB minimum for the base model, they're not going to include an HDD that offers less space than what the current PS3 models provide.

I hope at least 1 TB.

I have to say, one of my main complaints with PS3 (although it initially didn't seem all that bad) was that the hard drive is too small.

It didn't bother me the first few years, but now between games like Mass effect and PS+ free games ... really not enough - it wouldn't bother me if they didn't make swapping the hard drive such an annoying process (you need a specially formatted drive to back it up, then have to pull out the old hard drive and put in a new hard drive before reloading the backup - meaning you need 2 hard drives to add one, which is lame).

With so many games now with DLC (look at Borderlands where all the DLC takes up MORE space than the initial game) and PSN games, etc ... really need a lot of space [unless the online for PS4 truly delivers as promised with rapid downloads - with PS3, sometimes it took 4 hours to download a few GB, which is crap].

You'd be surprised. I work for a large company that does repairs on everything from typewriters to HP 9000 superdome servers and the like. Believe it or not, there are some server farms out there still cramming in 18.2 gig HDDs like it's still 1996. Hitachi, right off the top of my head, still makes drives that small.
