Controller was always my least favorite thing on the ps consoles, too small even when I was a kid.
The new one looks closer to 360 size and shape, which was the perfect controller for sports and shooters.
Ps4wiiu is they way to go this coming generation for me, as 343 ruined halo for me and last 2 gears were a let down.
If the controller bugs anyone, I am certain a third party will make something more 360 or xbone like. There are 360 shaped controllers for ps3, after all.
Playstation access had a vid on YouTube showing off dual shock 4, and it looked ok.
How was Gears of War 3 a letdown? It was easily the overall best multiplayer in the series. Now if you're talking about single player then I guess I could understand. Judgment and Gears of War 2 were trash online.
I have owned PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and will own a PS4 and Xbox One. Xbox's controller has been FAR superior to PS ever since the Controller S was released during Xbox Original's run. I'm glad Sony finally decided to enhance their controller because another generation of the same garbage DualShock that has been around since the 90's would have really sucked. The triggers on the PS3 are laughably bad, as are the joysticks. How that controller made it through testing I will never know. Only thing I don't like about the new PS4 controller is that the joysticks are still on the same axis, but I can live with it.
I don't care for the Dual Shock's placement of the left analog stick at all. Always feels uncomfortable using it. Hopefully the touchpad won't interfere with a 3rd-party making a PS4 controller with it placed where Microsoft and Nintendo put it.
People complain about controllers to much. It's not that big of a deal. I've been a Xbox only owner since xbox first came out, owned a Xbox for 10 years now, and recently sold my 360 and bought a PS3 to check out all the exclsuives before buying a PS4, and to be honest the first time I picked up the PS3 controller I was used to it straight away.
The only thing I don't like is that games I have played make L1 and R1 the aim and shooting buttons for FPS games and third person shooters. Other tthen this it's no problem at all.
Why can't people just adapt, it really isn't that hard. I've even used the Wii controller and i think if you can use that one you should be able to use any controller.
