Is Sony's removal of the analog capabilities from the DS4 not a problem?

The DS3 had analog buttons but since DS4 doesn't, you think: - Results (456 votes)

I think it was a feature that had little value, but they should've not removed it.

Sony would be wasting money having this feature in the DS4, so it's good news that they removed it.

The feature annoyed me in the PS3 games I saw it utilized in, so it's really great that it's now gone.

Where do you stand on the removal of a feature in the face buttons, L1, L2, and the d-pad that some games put to good use?

I don`t care either way, I never played games that used the analog capabilities.

Sony revealed this in March. They said making the face buttons digital improved responsiveness.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/03/sony-dives-deep-into-the-ps4s-hardware-power-controller-features-at-gdc/

"The DualShock 4 controller that's standard on the PS4 eliminates one feature that was seldom used on the PS3—the analog face buttons and d-pad. While games like Gran Turismo 4 made use of this feature, most developers ignored it. Using digital face buttons on the DualShock 4 will allow Sony to "cut latency way down" for the new controller, Norden said."

I never even noticed this feature in any games. So I'm good either way.

I can't imagine that the L3 and R3 are missing. Its used in most for things like running, knifing, scoping, activating alternate states and other auxiliary functions. Would be kind of awkward to have two less buttons suddenly.

They removed the Six Axis controls too right? Both seem like the loss of good features, but they weren't really utilized so it's not really a loss.

Six Axis was indeed useless. But the L3 and R3 seemed pretty integral, especially for shooters. I guess we'll see the difference once BF4 and COD releases for both consoles and people compare the controls.

From what I remember it's nothing the PS4 Camera can't bring back, doesn't the playroom take advantage of the controller's motion and in a overall better way than the Six Axis.
