^ Not every has a laptop, but I guess that's nice for you.

I'm sorry but who the hell is buying a PS4 and doesn't have a laptop? You need to get your priority straight, man.

The same people buying a PS4 to play on a CRT tv. What an absolute waste.

With no media server and mp3 playback functionality do you really think Sony is going to let it play, mp4/avi/mkv ?

I am guessing they want you to buy everything from the PSN store.

I just pop the flashdrive into the back of my TVs usb ports and watch it there, or stream it from my TV form my pc, or my bluray player does all that crap also

I have 2 things that streams video, music, plays from hds,usb.. don't care if ps4 does or not

Who knows. It's entirely irrelevant to me since I don't use my PS3 or 360 for either of those things. Anytime I've needed to watch a video from my PC on my TV, I just hook my my laptop via HDMI.

That's a pain in the butt and not as convenient since some of use like to use our laptop while we're on our consoles you know that so stop being a walrus

My guess is no.

I mean, if the useless box without an update at release won't play mp3's or any audio you don't pay Sony for.... ?

I don't have a laptop, or smart phone, maybe you should do some good hard research.

The PS3 wasn't able to do alot of the MP4 / AVI file functionality at first.

It got that feature much later in it's life cycle.

This would be a bit of a disappointment for me, I use this a LOT on my PS3 and I'm not planning to keep my PS3 hooked up.

If your laptop doesn't have an HDMI out, you need to upgrade. It's been the standard for years already.
