Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking to upgrade my 32-inch Philips.

I'm loving my 32" Vizio 1080p 3DTV I got two years ago for $499 from Walmart lol. No crazy high refresh rate or anything, but damn solid for the price. It also comes in bigger sizes and I'm sure the price has probably dropped on them quite a bit since they came out.

I would say that if you live in the U.S. that you should wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday before making a purchase, as I'm sure there will be some quality tvs under $600 that wouldn't normally be.

I asked the same question a couple weeks ago and went with: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889354451

Refurbished is a gamble, but I won as the TV I got looked as if it was opened and then returned. I've played The Last of Us, AC3, GTA V, InFamous 2, and I frequently watch movies and shows on it and so far I love it. The price is amazing and so far the TV is amazing.

Here's the 42" version of the tv that I bought, $498 on Amazon! The 50" is $678. And just an fyi, the tv uses passive 3D glasses, not those expensive clunky shutter frames.

I know people have different opinions but I have always liked LG's TVs, they seem reasonably priced for what they offer and are reliable.

^That looks like such a steal for $500, I never bought a Vizio product before so I dont trust them, but that thing is tempting me to take the plunge.

Do you think this TV would go on sale for Black Friday?

Very possible. It's a couple years old, so retailers will most likely want to get rid of older stock by slashing the price.

I find Philips bad for gaming.

I have a 32" Toshiba LCD. On sale they can go under $300, mine was $275 plus tax I think. Very good gaming TV, the model I have is lacking connections (has 2 HDMI and Component and Composite are shared on the same set of plug), but it is very responsive. I've literally never had lag, even with game mode off, and that's including PS2 games. Seems to have pretty damn good picture as well.

Perhaps you should look into a Toshiba and see if you find a set that suits your needs.
