Neither the PS4 nor the Xbox One will record TV. You need a DVR for that.

If you have a cable box with HDMI output (not just coaxial), you could plug it into your Xbox One and watch TV that way. Kind of silly since you could just plug your cable box into your TV and watch it that way. As strange as it sounds, people have been able to watch TV for decades without an Xbox.

no

that's what your cable box is for

this is a video game console

Why have 2 machines when 1 can do both?

XBOne cannot DVR TV. Only games.

Don't understand why this is a selling point for people. If I wanna watch tv I'll turn on my tv. Why would I turn on my tv and Xbox?

Yes, buy the PS4 Eye, face it at your TV. It can also record 3D TV, provided you put on the special head compatible 3D filter over the lenses

Sounds like PS3 to me.

Fixed ;)

The PS4 is supposed to have on demand app style functions, not sure if you can record on it though?

It would be great if they bought PlayTV or Torne over to it though.
