I don't think Sony has a big 3. Probably Gran Turismo is there big 1. Its really the only game that's been through all their consoles. Uncharted and GOW doesn't really have enough quality over the years. They basically released the same game 3 or 4 times in a row.
First of all, Metroid isn't one of Nintendo's "Big Three". Metroid rarely gets releases and even when they have a good thing going, they ruin it with crap like Other M and then the franchise gets shelved for years.
Second, Sony doesn't have a "Big Three" either. They have a lot of franchises that aren't really all that bigger than each other. The key is that they have a variety of games so there's something for everyone no matter what you enjoy, not that they have three huge franchises to get all their sales from.
Third, seriously, what is wrong with you and anyone else who thinks Metroid is a big series for Nintendo?
