Buying from Craigslist

If you buy one off of craigslist (I found one for not crazy expensive), are you still protected under the Sony warranty if it breaks?

Please don't buy one off of craigslist. Just wait for the next shipment! Be patient!

Should, as long as they did nothing to void the warranty.

No, warranties are NOT transferable (read the small print)

Just buy one from the shops.

I believe, since it was bought on launch day and the manufacturer warranty is obviously active.

The console has the warranty not the person nothing transfers. As long as the sticker isnt torn on the inside of the console its good

the manufacture warranty is. that is based on the "date console assembled" date I believe. As long as it wasn't altered outside of what the company allows that is.

EDIT: as SIC101 said, as long as that sticker isn't torn...it's still good as well.

Also, many companies do allow their warranties to be transferable (Best Buy & SquareTrade do this)
