I'm having issues getting my PS4 to record what I want, especially the first time in a play session. I've been playing a game, see something funny happen, tap the share button to save the video, but run into a problem. While on most occasions you can press Square to save the video clip, it doesn't always show up. At least three times today I had it happen where I go to the share screen and "Save Video" is not an option on the context menu and pressing Square does nothing.

Any videos I record after this start from after I pressed the share button. So basically, if the save video glitch happens, that means I lost all that footage, because the next video, even a couple seconds after this failed attempt, will not include any video before I hit the button last time. I wish there was a consistent way to save footage that randomly happens without having to set it to record before the random event even occurs. That's supposed to be the benefit of having a video game DVR right? To save those unexpected moments?

Does the PS4 captures gameplay footage at native 1080 quality? Or is the quality downgraded?
Thanks

That doesn't change the fact that it works that easily. Or you can voice command to start or end recordings and tell it the length of time you want. Works like a champ.

The quality is downgraded but it's still decent.
