PS4 owners (and lovers): Is this how you see the current competition?

#1BushidoEffect3Posted 1/24/2014 7:02:39 AM(edited)

Seems about right? Wii U is nearly dead. And MS arrogance and behavior since before their reveal, to their policy, to their 180s has cost them.

Agamemnon: "of all the consoles loved by the gods... I hate PS4 the most".
"Is there no one ELSE!?" Apparently not according to Brad Pitt lol.

I don't own or love ps4 but I see ps4s competition as pathetic... Nintendo is so behind the times and show such a level of incompetence on the simplest things and MSes first party is consisted of people MS hired to make Kinect games that don't have a single real game under their belt, and their practices are horrible.

So I can't buy a wiiU because it sucks to much and I won't buy a Xbone because MS sucks so much so I'll be getting a ps4 just because that's all that's left.

I actually find the lack of competition very worrying.

No, because someone actually dies in the scene.
Whereas the competition is not dead, and would not be good for the consumers if competition died.

Nintendo: misguided

Microsoft: desperate

When did MS become desperate? I mean yeah they ARE having to promote their system but so what?

That is to say Sony learned from their mistakes last gen, maybe MS will too.

Nintendo is far from dead.

Yeah, the Wii U isn't doing well, but the 3DS is rocking sales. When Donkey Kong, Mario Kart 8, and Smash Bros come out, we're likely to see more. Nintendo has put out excellent games, it's just that they are few and far between. There isn't nearly as much 3rd party, poorly made, library clutter like the Wii had. While half of that is due to poor third party support, it shows a more quality over quantity approach. Nintendo wants good games on the system, and that's what we are getting from them.

I have a Wii U, and I'm glad I have it. Even if it doesn't sell well, it doesn't mean Nintendo should just give up. They should broaden their horizons, and with games like Bayonetta 2 and Splinter Cell, it seems like they are starting to. Nintendo, as a company, also has around $8-$10 Billion in the bank, so a poorly selling console won't hurt them too much.

I'm sure that as an all in one multimedia machine, Xbox ONE has its benefits, but it's just not the console for me. I don't like the Kinect, and I don't want to shout at my console to do anything. And to have to spend an extra $100 for features I don't want, why would I? Their reveal and their E3 presentation made people really hesitant about buying one.

When it comes down to it, yeah, the PS4 is the best of the three consoles. However, I honestly think Wii U is being severely underrated, and Nintendo seems to be losing ground because of it.

Both wii u and xb1 can be salvaged.

I have a wiiu and whenever possible I'll get the wiiu version of a game (black flag, cod ghosts). Nintendo just has to stop being afraid and let some third party teams make some first party franchises. They need to farm out their games to other people to make. They have a huge number of franchises under their belt. They just have to use more than Mario, Link and Smash.

Nintendo also has to clean up their eshop. I have no idea how they organized the Wii shop channel so well but made it practically impossible to find anything on WiiU and 3DS.

xb1 has more work to convince me since their first party franchises don't impress me. They get timed exclusives or games they release on PC. I have a gaming PC, I don't need an XB1 to play TitanFall or Spark. Once they get games that are only on Xbox one that interest me and games with gold on the console I can see myself getting one.

as odd as it may be for some of you, I actually liked the pre180 Xbox one. It had a lot of conveniences, but were thrown away when they could have been worked around.

Sony has a solid track record, plenty of first party devs and a consistent stream of games from third party devs. Games from PS+ are a nice bonus as well.

Since the 180 reversals, and since some investors want to sell the division off.

If they ever tell my story let them say that I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses. Let them say I lived in the time of Achilles.

We are living in the time of PS4! =p
