Let's stop pretending exclusives are good for anyone please

Whether a title is exclusive for PS4 or Xbone, it is bad news for gamers. How does this help you in any way shape or form? It doesn't. It only hurts people that like a certain game. It's time to stop supporting the idea of exclusives even if they're in your favor.

A title being exclusive is always bad news.

Or just buy the console with the games you like. It's a selling point for the consoles they aren't going anywhere.

Because that means people are going to have to buy a console they don't want and needlessly spend more money than they have to.

Edit: also some people don't have that kind of money and just end up missing out.

And then there wouldn't be a need for more than one system.

Why isn't there just one system guys.

Monopolies are good.

A lot of exclusives are made by that company. Why would games made by Sony be on xbox?

Exclusives are often times the best games on any given system. Sony, Nintendo, and MS know that exclusives will be a major factor to a consumer in deciding which system to buy, so they always ensure that they're top quality. Was there ever a bad Mario game on the Wii, 3ds, or Wii U? A bad Sly cooper game?

Even if you don't personally like them, exclusives are almost always top class games that manage to avoid the genericity, lazy effort, and deliberate cash ins of all multiplats today (Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, CoD, etc.)

Third party exclusives shouldn't exist true, and will probably drop in quantity even more this gen. Not much to be done about first/second though, other than buying the other platforms once they get a decent amount of them

They promote competition. Without competition, the standard of quality drops substantially.
