Does the length (game time) of a ps4 game help you decide if it's good or not?

No. More often than not I think a game is too long for it's own good. It's pretty rare I think a game is too short.

You could make the best game in the world but if it only has an hour of content you can bet I'll be playing something else next week and never look back.

It can't be too long or short. But has to match it's content and have some sort of balance.

Small game. Lots to do = fun.

Lots of arcade games. I've had lots of fun with like castle crashers. It's not long really. But has tons of content.

But there's some games. Like contrast that are short and lack much content. But they're still good.

And long games. Skyrim. I get so sick of it. The story is boring to me. And there's a lot of extra stuff but it just seems thrown in there and doesn't really feel like it ties together.

It really needs balance between length and content Imo.

So time can be important but only equally as important as its content.

It is important, but only to a degree. An amazing game that has large replay value that is only five-8 hours is good bc I can play is three or four times.

Such as Resident Evil 4, MG:Rising, most action games, etc. . .

You never enjoy replaying a game. Ever?
What the hell is wrong with you?

I know this probably stems from the length of MGS: GZ (which has already been said to be only 10% complete at 2 hours, so I'm not worried), but plenty of great games have been pretty friggin' short.

According to HowLongToBeat.com main story benchmarks (compiled from several gamers):

- Mirror's Edge - 6 hours
- Portal - 3 1/2 hours
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - 3 hours
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - 5 1/2 hours

All of which I'd say are pretty great games. And if you've played the MGS series heavily, you'd know that even a prologue in the series won't be that short.

Terrible poll. None of these are options I would pick.

What I would say is: a good game is better if it is long, and I would pick that game over another good game that offers less content 10 times out of 10.

I would seriously cringe if any of those games were any longer.
Imagine sex being 12 hours long instead of 30 minutes.

It's the "best thing ever"
True, but it would feel more like a chore as time passes.

I'm sorry, but F*** NO!
*shudders*

This same logic can easily apply to games.

Then option 2 is where you fit.
You'll ignore a great game just because it's short.

Which makes me sad.
