Four games that stand out for me are:

1) PvZ: Garden Warfare - My most played game this year. I would never have predicted I would enjoy this game so much.

2) Dark Souls 2 - Didnt reach the heights of its predecessor but I still sank over 60 hours into it and enjoyed every minute.

3) Divinity Original Sin - Breath of fresh air. Put 45 hours into it so far and still not finished. The game offers a lot of depth.

4) Wolfenstein New Order - Another surprise. Really solid shooting mechanics with fun stealth and a really compelling story.

My GOTY so far is definitely Strider. The game is really exactly how I'd want it to be, and more. If I knew it was that good, I would've easily paid up to $40 for it, but I'm glad it was free! Some of my main pros:

+ fun, fast gameplay
+ tight controls
+ excellent side-scrolling combat
+ plenty of exploration
+ awesome main character
+ (some) really fun boss fights

My only cons:

- game isn't longer!
- the story could be a little more interesting
- I would've liked a retail release

This is truly the kind of high quality that CAPCOM needs to release more of!

My other candidates would be inFAMOUS: SS, FFXIV: ARR (PS4), Hearthstone, and FTL: Advanced Edition. Haven't played Transistor or Wolfenstein yet, but I plan to, and they may jump into this list as well. I also expect Civ: Beyond Earth, Evolve, and Sunset Overdrive to all be candidates.

3) South Park: The Stick of Truth
2) Watch Dogs
1) Child of Light

Those are my top three games of the year thus far even though im expecting Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed: Unity to be 1 and 2 respectively at year's end. And all five games are from Ubisoft. Ubisoft baby!!!

I couldn't beat the 1st boss on easy, and I'm not that bad at games, you're good, the game was hard, I don't know what the devs were thinking, at least make the game easy on the easy setting for some of us.

I can complete the original Strider on easy.

Hmm... a lot of support for Shovel Knight.

Maybe I should get this. I first heard about it on the 3DS boards last year. Is it better on the console or hand-held?
