When's the last time Square Enix made a new IP RPG (on consoles)?

Feels like they haven't tried anything new since Kingdom Hearts 12 years ago

Life is Strange anyone? Not yet released but still, it's being made.

if you mean SE themselves who knows since they hire other companies to make their games even with Final fantasy and Dragon Quest.

The World Ends With You, and if any portable game really deserved a sequel it was that game.

Quite a while.
They're clearly more focus on the mobile/handheld markets. Just look at Twewy and Bravely Default.

Infinite Undiscovery was awesome. It's a Star Ocean game with on-the-fly battles instead of battle maps. Loved almost every second of it (the townspeople relocation mission was a chore and a half).

They published one of the best games of the past-gen, Nier, in 2010.
