There's to many of them. We must search for the other caves and act quickly.

The problem with the Xbone is that when you unplug your Kinect 2.0, you can no longer use the console.

Apparently that decision about Kinect required connectivity hasn't been finalized yet. Game devs have said that their XBO dev kits don't even require Kinect to be hooked up for Xbox One to work. There's still an opportunity for Microsoft to not make it a mandatory requirement for Kinect to be plugged in. Kinect will still be bundled in with all XBO units though, that's why display units have to show XBO console, XBO controller, and Kinect 2.0 together at all times, because that's the image of Xbox One that Microsoft is selling.

The Kinect can be turned completely off, or put in to a sleep mode.

Wait a minute..."The Kinect can be turned completely off" is completely a misnomer at this point in time.

I think you know very well that this is a very - ahem - "sticky" issue with many people because the Kinect 2.0 CANNOT be turned completely off....regardless of any double-speak Microsoft tries to spin on this issue by saying 'menu settings' can turn the Kinect 'off' or place it in 'sleep mode.'

Since the Kinect 2.0 connections cannot be severed from the main Xbox One console or the Kinect's power cord removed without the Xbox One console going into a functionless "stand-by" mode, the Kinect can thus NOT be truly "turned off."

TC - If you are going to post "facts" about the Xbox One, make sure you post facts

MODS - If you are going to grant a topic a sticky, put your personal biases aside and make sure the content in the thread is truthful and not Public Relations jargon.

Thank you.

Just going off what I read here, sorry.

Not sure what else I should use that isn't rumour?

From that exact link:

"By design, you will determine how responsive and personalized your Xbox One is to you and your family during setup. The system will navigate you through key privacy options, like automatic or manual sign in, privacy settings, and clear notifications about how data is used. When Xbox One is on and you’re simply having a conversation in your living room, your conversation is not being recorded or uploaded."

So if people live in a DEAD-ZONE, will not be able to USE/ PLAY or Get an Xbox One.

So basically if you live in a DEAD-ZONE or in an DIAL UP/56K Dial Up ONLY ZONES meaning those WHO HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTIONS.

People such as THOSE will not be ABLE TO USE OR PLAY THE XBOX ONE so in reality still FORCED DRM ALWAYS ONLINE.

Cause of that I AM NOT GETTING THE X1, me I am going PLAYSTATION 4 & WII U.

I don't like to use this thread for rumours, I just like to bring facts.

Fact of the matter is we haven't heard anything to disprove what you've said.
I'd hope they allow the day-one patch to be transferred via USB - but no confirmation yet.

Great news, I saw this link from Decimator11:

http://www.gamepur.com/news/11698-xbox-one-kinectless-sku-not-going-happen-says-xbox-one-lead-planner.html

According to this, the Kinect 2.0 can be unplugged without bricking the system. This takes care of NSA issues, little kids that knock things over, and big kids that spill beer. Honestly, Microsoft has fixed the major problems I have had with the system. I'll miss my soapbox, but I'm sure I'll find another. Top Bloke, your information is now correct! It is a good day for gamers, and should be a lot better for Microsoft, too.

Considering all the information that has changed in recent days, I believe that a Version 2.0 of this FAQ should be in works after Gamescom ends. Thoughts?
