Perhaps we are the "video gaming 1%".

People love to point out that gamefaqs isn't representative of all gamers.

I have been saving for a couple months since I pre ordered both systems so unless something catastrophic happens I wont have to worry.

I put $120 a month each on both consoles, and I started when they were first up for preorder. Each console will be paid off before launch, with plenty of time to get games, controllers etc.

$240 a month isn't much, although I admit I haven't bought many games since June.

Summer game drought = more money for next-gen

None of these. I'm not rich, but I do put money on the side from each paycheck whenever I can so I can splurge if I feel like it.

Student loans FTW!

Actually though, if I really want it,. I will just save the money ahead of time.
I am unconvinced I will buy one at launch. I remember the XBox360 and the plague of Red Rings.

Nobody should worry about RRoD. The same team that design X360 Slim designed X1, so you know it will have vents and be very cool. Also, the blu-ray drive doesn't need to spin since games have to be installed, so you don't need to worry about heat from that either. This has been talked about a lot. I even have an article about it if you need proof: http://bgr.com/2013/05/24/microsoft-xbox-one-red-ring-of-death/

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being cautious... After the 360 launch, I'd find that wariness an adaptive quality, not something I'd want to dissuade so quickly....

You do realise a lot people might have started putting money aside when it was announced.
