Only greater than their chance of survival, is the chance of any of you surviving the "pay-to-win" future model of competitive gaming......or not being able to afford the luxury of playing video games in general.

Oh, but I'd guess many of you completely indoctrinated by leftist academia.....that believes at some point, you've made enough money.....anything beyond this arbitrary judgment call is essentially stealing from the people. Miright?!?!?

Let's occupy Gamestop! The video games belong to the people! Vive la Revolution! (and all the other communist/socialist rhetoric).

So in other words, you want the cool gear, but you don't want to put the time in to get the gear.

And please leave the "leftist agenda" BS out of this, you're making yourself look even more foolish than you already are.

"Time" is a relative term here.....trust me, I've put in plenty of "time" earning the money I would/do spend on these "pay-to-win" games. Only my "time" was spent actually producing something.

I mean, I get it....I can tell from your post above that you're the type of person where the "ohs and ahs" directed at your imaginary ego (that "cool gear", though I really couldn't care less about cosmetic items) does something for your actual ego. Sorry, I can't relate.

So let me once again break out the worlds tiniest violin as we lament the monopoly those that spend their lives on the internet had on the "cool gear" against those that can afford to buy the time required in getting it.

The "leftist agenda BS" has more to do with this idea that these companies aren't entitled to make as much money on as many different propositions (on these luxury items) as possible. IMHO, given as culturally embedded as video games now are, these companies could certainly charge more for these luxury items....and I think they will. More power to 'em....I want to see an industry that I love....that thrives.

I don't get why you'd even bother to buy the game if you're just gonna pay money to unlock stuff or get ahead. Doesn't that sort of defeat the entire purpose?

Holy f***. I was looking at the cash shop for Plants Vs Zombies 2.
2-4 dollars to unlock one plant?

PopCap will never be the same now that EA has them.

It's not even that. I mean it seems like a bunch of games are gonna go this way, exclusives included.

So let me get this straight, you want to buy a game, and then buy whatever unlock because your time is too "precious"? Then what's the point of playing? If you want to play for a couple of hours, that's fine. Play your little bit, turn the system off. But that doesn't mean you deserve whatever rewards developers put in place for grinders, people that put real time into the game.

And NO, businesses aren't entitled to anything. They have to earn that money, with the trust of their consumers. And nickel and diming like that, especially off the heels of a bunch of reversals, will further make consumers even more distrustful.

And this industry will thrive, only because of good products, not more money. But if microtransactions are the future of AAA development, then those games will die a slow and painful death.

Well, I only see the trend expanding, not receding.....so there must be a market for microtransactions huh?

And....wait right their as I again fetch the worlds tiniest violin for the "grinders that actually put time in the game".....such a sad sad song.

On PC I get that since it's PC but we're gonna be paying just for live to even unlock more of the game then you have to pay for the microtransactions too.
